Our mission is, “Strategically enhancing the capabilities of youth by providing them with the empowerment and exposure needed to navigate through the risks of life.”
There is evidence to support that those who have a mentor are more likely to progress through school and attend college.
We are fundraising to expand program and services offered
The Mentor Me program is targeting an issue within the California school district and within the community- for every child that is suspended, the school district looses funds. For every child that is out of school, crime rises. Suspensions are affecting our economy at an alarming rate. When students are suspended, they struggle academically and eventually drop out of school. Dropouts cost the state more than $46 billion dollars each year, including more than $1 billion in juvenile crime costs alone (Harris, 2014).
